Dr. Caroline Guardino, Associate Professor and Director of the Deaf Education Program, discussed program prerequisites, study abroad opportunities and internships. What is the Deaf Education Program?
ASL stand for American Sign Language. Starting in the Fall, you will have the opportunity to not only learn about this incredible language, but make it the focus of your studies by majoring in it. Plus, you will learn from native ASL speakers, some of which are deaf themselves!
You will be exposed to a variety of settings so that by the time you finish you will have a good understanding for where you want to be when you graduate. The comprehensive program includes:
- Total Communication
- Listening and spoken language
- Bilingual / Bicultural
